Czech Truck Prix 2025 (August 29-31) will offer not only battles of thousand-horsepower trucks, but also the return of the NASCAR Euro Series, where the Czech colors will be worn by two-time champion Martin Doubek. He will defend his title in the EuroNASCAR 2 category in Most and is one of the biggest favorites of the weekend. This year's motorsport festival will also feature the premiere of Dakar hero Martin Macík, who will be appearing on asphalt for the first time against the European truck elite.
How is Martin Doubek preparing for his home race and what can fans expect from him? We asked the Czech champion directly.
How are you doing this season and what ambitions do you have heading to Most?
We are halfway through the season, we have three final races left – Most, Germany (Oschersleben) and Belgium (Zolder). The worst race is deducted from the regular season and Oschersleben and Zolder are worth double the points. At the moment, I am in third place in the EuroNASCAR Open category and in fifth place in EuroNASCAR Pro. However, everything can still change – the final two races in Belgium and Germany will decide the outcome.
What makes a home race special for you and where on the track do you feel the biggest advantage?
I know the Most circuit very well and have raced here many times. This year we even skipped testing in Most because we are used to it. The biggest advantage is probably not that it is my home track, but that we can set up the car correctly for Most. Of course, it depends on the weather – whether it is raining or dry. I have no problem driving in either and we can set up the car for all conditions, but I prefer to drive in the dry. I hope the weather will hold and be nice, because it is of course more pleasant for the fans.
How important is the support of the Czech fans here in Most for you? Does it give you energy, or is it more of a pressure to achieve a result?
It certainly means pressure for me to achieve a result, but not a big one. After 25 years of racing, I can now control my stress and the fans are a huge motivation for me. The race in Most is the highlight of the season for me – because family, friends, fans can come, see what we do, and maybe even enjoy the Czech anthem if it is played. In previous years, the atmosphere at the races in Most was perfect. When I saw the videos of how excited the stands were, it is something amazing and worth experiencing.
How is the preparation for the Most race going? And do you have any special strategy for the Most weekend?
We don't have a special strategy, but we will definitely work on it during the weekend - depending on the starting position. The last race we went to was in England at Brands Hatch, then the summer break began, during which we worked on the car in Belgium. I have to admit that my hands are itching and I am really looking forward to getting into the car.
Have you prepared anything special for the Most weekend?
After agreement with the promoter and Autodrom Most, we have prepared a special zone where we will have four pits. Spectators and fans can come there and see the mechanics' work and the car's preparation from close quarters. There will also be a merch shop and our Dakar team. Ervín Krajčovič will arrive with the competitors and their equipment. It will be really big. I am really looking forward to it and I hope that we will enjoy it at least as much as last year - and that the Czech anthem will be played for us again.
In addition to Martin Doubek's NASCAR duels and Martin Macík's truck racing debut, the weekend will also bring a rich accompanying program. Up to 47 iconic cars will line up on the Super Sixties grid - Shelby Mustang GT350, Ford GT40, Lotus Elan or Porsche 904. The second supplementary series Triumph Competition & British GT will bring classic British machines with a unique sixties atmosphere to the Most asphalt.
The traditional Thursday grand ride will bring racing specials to the center of Most, and on Friday visitors can take part in a free run on the race track. The entire weekend will offer a family program, children's zones, driver autograph sessions and the opportunity to get closer to motorsport than ever before.
There will also be simulator races for fans, where everyone can try out professional racing simulators with the Most circuit and trucks and NASCAR cars for free. Practice and qualifying will take place in the morning, followed by a tough race in the afternoon. In addition, two ETRC stars will arrive for an exhibition drive - and whoever beats their time will take home a themed gift.
"At the end of August, we want to offer more than just races in Most - it is a motorsport festival for all generations. Trucks, NASCAR, historic cars and the accompanying program together create a weekend that everyone will enjoy in their own way. We are looking forward to the fans and I believe that the Czech Truck Prix 2025 will be one of the highlights of this season," says Josef Zajíček, General Director of Autodrom Most.
