The Mostec old woman was auctioned for CZK 92,000

The 2002 Most safety car, a Škoda Octavia RS, was auctioned at Jarní Retro Garáž for 92,000 CZK. The entire amount will go to charity. The new owner is Pavel Kalina from Oldtimer Gallery Dobřenice.

Saturday's Spring Retro Garage at the Lysá nad Labem Exhibition Grounds attracted many classic car enthusiasts and offered many interesting items at the auction, including the 2002 Most safety car, the Škoda Octavia RS. The pre-series prototype actively served at the Autodrom from 2002 to 2016 and was auctioned for CZK 92,000, with the starting price being CZK 1.

The auction itself, which took place as part of the Spring Retro Garage at the exhibition grounds in Lysá nad Labem, got off to a brisk start, and the amount soon exceeded 50 thousand crowns. The charity project was sympathetically supported during the auction by the later winner Pavel Kalina from Oldtimer Gallery Dobřenice, when at one point he even threw a coin against himself, thus further enlivening the auction. In the final, he threw a coin on the podium with the last opponent to see who would win the car for 92 thousand crowns.

"I've been looking for a suitable Octavia RS for my collection for a long time, and this one has a great story and history. I also really like the authentic stickers, and I believe it will be a great addition to our collection," said Pavel Kalina from Oldtimer Gallery Dobřenice. The collection focuses mainly on domestically produced machines, and as the new owner confirmed, he is planning to take it to Most for the autumn The Most CLASSIC (8/10/2023).

"On behalf of the Autodrom, I can say that we are very satisfied with the auction, and I thank the organizers of Retro Garáža for allowing us to participate and supporting a good cause. We are donating the money to support young athletes and children in the Most region," commented Josef Zajíček, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Autodrom Most, on the result of the successful auction.

The main organizer of the auction, Pavel Kočí, was also satisfied with the successful course of the safety car auction. "The safety car auction was a nice surprise for me and actually a beautiful ending to a successful auction afternoon. I am very happy that we could also contribute a little to a good cause with Retro Garáží and hand over a check for 92,000 CZK, which was the entire proceeds of this charity auction." The auctioned amount will be donated to charitable causes in the Most region through the Autodrom Most Foundation.
