Classic cars, regularity competition drives, engaging lectures and a great atmosphere characterized the premiere year of The Most CLASSIC, which took place at the Most autodrome this Saturday.
"We considered this year to be basically a zero and we mainly wanted to try everything out and find out what the reaction would be from the owners and fans. The result pleasantly surprised us, not only in terms of the number of participants, but also in terms of the pleasant atmosphere that everyone created together in the Autodrom area. Next year, we are therefore planning to continue on an even larger scale, and I believe that we have laid the foundation for a new tradition," explains Josef Zajíček, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Autodrom Most, who is himself a lover and collector of vintage cars, and arrived at The Most CLASSIC with an elegant Tatra 97.
The Most CLASSIC combines racing, meetings and an exhibition of classic cars, which makes the program for spectators and participants from among the owners of historic cars very diverse. Each registered participant could not only exhibit their car, but also take a ride, either directly on the large circuit, or race on the polygon track, where a 2.5 km long track was prepared. Visitors then had the opportunity to watch everything from close proximity, including the open paddock. In addition, the final of the Histo Cup series, in which iconic cars from the 60s to 80s compete, took place on the circuit throughout the weekend.
Over 130 historic cars of various makes and ages arrived at The Most CLASSIC on Saturday. There were also historic MTX formula cars and other racing specials, which were brought in together with the Bugatti by Markéta Profeldová, collector and director of the Zbraslav-Jíloviště plant. Among the notable participants was also Radek Pokorný's ENGINE CLASSIC CARS INVESTMENT FUND, which exhibited a Lamborghini Diablo, an Aston Martin DB2 and a Porsche 911 Carrera 2 (964).
In addition to the regularity competition and a lunchtime drive on the big circuit, lectures and presentations were also held at the Auto Gallery. For example, the legendary Mille Miglia race, Aero Minor at the Le Mans Classic, and investments in classic cars were discussed. The audience could also see an exhibition of paintings by automotive designer Boris Kovalík. The whole day, which was a celebration of enthusiasm for classic cars, was also enriched by the presence of actor Petr Čtvrtníček, who arrived with his Citroen Méhari, from which he sold hand-made sausages to visitors.
The symbolic climax of the day was the announcement of the elegance competition, framed by a low flyby of three historic aircraft. Based on the vote of the expert jury, the winner was the Alfa Romeo 1900c Sprint Pininfarina from 1953. František Vahala accepted the award on behalf of the owner, the company Portu Gallery. The winner received a travel set from the main partner, the Czech watch manufacturer Robot by Bohematic.
"We already have a fairly clear idea of where we want to take the entire event next year. Our goal is to make the event a tradition and a pleasant social event that all lovers of classic cars and more will enjoy traveling to Most for," Josef Zajíček summarizes the goals of the organizers.
