Successful Racing Journal Speed Fest culminates in dramatic Formula Sunday

Most, August 3, 2026 – Autodrom Most has hosted another year of the Racing Journal Speed Fest. The biggest formula weekend of the season in the Czech Republic offered a packed program over two days, almost forty F4 single-seaters, GT car races, touring cars and cup specials. Sunday's final brought dramatic battles, significant Czech results and a great atmosphere in the stands, the spectator slope and in the paddock.

"Racing Journal Speed Fest confirmed that there is great interest among Czech fans in quality circuit racing and young formula talents. We evaluate the atmosphere of the entire weekend very positively and the opportunity to offer visitors close contact with drivers, teams and racing equipment," says Radek Laube, PR manager of Autodrom Most.
The main sporting attraction was the F4 Central European Zone Championship with an exceptionally large and internationally represented starting field. In addition to young drivers from all over Europe, there were also Max Karhan, Teo Borenstein, David Gorčica and Ella Häkkinen, the daughter of two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Häkkinen, who is competing under the Czech flag.

Max Karhan opened the home weekend with a victory
The first race of the Formula weekend belonged to Max Karhan. The Czech driver dominated Saturday's F4 race on a wet track and scored one of the most valuable victories of his career in front of his home crowd.
On Sunday, Elia Weiss from Jenzer Motorsport took over the lead role. The son of former successful racer Claudia Hürtgen won both Sunday races and turned all three of his starts into victories over the weekend.
In the first race on Sunday, Weiss won ahead of Max Karhan and David Walther. Ella Häkkinen finished fifth, building on her best result of the season from Saturday.
The last F4 race was significantly affected by a mass accident right at the opening chicane. Swedish driver Alexia Danielsson failed to brake into the first corner and the subsequent collision meant the end of five cars, including those of Mathilda Paatz and Ella Häkkinen. The race had to be red-flagged.
After the restart, Weiss held on to the lead and claimed his third victory of the weekend. Teo Borenstein finished second and David Walther third. Max Karhan was fighting for the podium before the final restart, but ended up finishing fifth. His disappointment was evident after the race, as he reached for another podium finish in front of his home crowd.

Milota won in front of his home crowd
Libor Milota delighted the home fans in the GT Cup Series. After three years, he returned to racing in Most and won the Sunday sprint with an Audi.
Anthony Pretorius took two victories, dominating both Saturday and Sunday's GTC sprints with the Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra Lamborghini. Tomáš Pekař took care of one of the biggest chases of Sunday, working his way up from 22nd to third in the second race of the Clio Cup.

Fans were close to the races
The weekend was not just about racing on the track. Visitors could enter the paddock, take part in the pit walk and take advantage of the accompanying program on the spectator slope, in the Auto Gallery and in the fan zone in the paddock.
The presence of well-known personalities from motorsport also attracted great attention. Two-time Formula 1 world champion Mika Häkkinen, former Formula 1 pilot Tomáš Enge, and former successful racer Claudia Hürtgen came to Most.
Over the course of two days, Racing Journal Speed Fest introduced Czech fans to current and future stars of European motorsport and confirmed its position as the biggest formula weekend of the season in the Czech Republic.

Another big racing weekend awaits Autodrom Most on August 27-30, when the Czech Truck & NASCAR Prix arrives. Fans can look forward to the FIA ETRC European Circuit Truck Championship, NASCAR Euro Series races, and a rich accompanying program.
