The first weekend race of the World Championship in Most brought great joy, especially to Czech fans. Oliver König achieved the result of his life, and the joy was not diminished even by the later penalty and move to third position.
On the first day of the Most racing weekend, visitors enjoyed beautiful weather and dramatic performances on the track. 19-year-old Oliver König shone in the Supersport 300 class race. After a dramatic finish, in which the order of the first seven riders constantly changed, he finally crossed the finish line in second place. The subsequent penalty for exceeding the track limit unfortunately relegated him to third place, but it was still a lifetime achievement for the Czech rider.
The race in the superbike superbike class was definitely not boring either, where Czech fans cheered for Karel Hanik. Unfortunately, he was not so lucky. He managed to move from eighteenth to fifteenth place, but then fell in the chicane at the end of the finish line. The leading World Championship racer Jonathan Rea had a similar experience. The dramatic finish was ensured by the Turk Toprak Razgatlioglu and Scott Redding. Redding was in front for most of the race and was even more surprised when the Turkish rider overtook him in the penultimate corner. The Briton's great disappointment was visible from his gestures in the finish line and he could not contain his emotions even after dismounting from the motorcycle, when he criticized Toprak for the way he overtook him.
On the first day of the race weekend, the track record also fell by almost two seconds, when Toprak Razgatlioglu beat it on the fifteenth lap with a time of 1:32.697 min.
On Sunday, the World Superbike Championship continues with the second race, which promises to be at least as attractive a spectacle and similarly pleasant weather. Tickets can be purchased online, but also on site.
