The sixth round of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship took place at the Most circuit over the weekend, attracting a record number of visitors and setting new track records. A total of 58,474 fans attended this prestigious event, an increase of almost 10% compared to last year.
Spectators witnessed some excellent performances and one of the highlights of the weekend was the new track record set by current championship leader, Turkish rider Toprak Razgatlioglu. He dominated both main races during the weekend and also in Sunday’s sprint superpole race, where he set a new official track record with a time of 1’31.180 min. Razgatlioglu achieved 10 consecutive victories and claimed his 50th victory in the WorldSBK championship.
Not only foreign riders, but also Czech racers performed well. Ondřej Vostatek finished twelfth in the 600 category in Sunday's race and scored points in the overall standings. Another Czech rider who improved one place compared to Saturday's race was Filip Feigl, who finished in 20th place. In the 300 category, Daniel Tureček failed to finish the race due to technical problems, while the youngest rider in the championship, Filip Novotný, finished seventeenth, equaling his best result in the first season so far.
The organizers are very satisfied with the weekend. "We went to WorldSBK with the aim of building a tradition and we are succeeding in that. The proof is the increasing attendance and satisfied spectators who return to us. But the concept of the championship itself is also very attractive to spectators and fans can watch the races in very close contact with the riders, which you won't find anywhere else. We are negotiating with the promoter to extend the contact, there is interest on both sides. So everything is on the right track, but fans still have to wait for an official announcement," said Josef Zajíček, chairman of the board of directors of Autodrom Most as and member of the Automotoklub Most in the Czech Republic.
The promoter also has a similarly positive assessment of the Most races. "Since WorldSBK returned to the Czech Republic in 2021, our cooperation with Autodrom Most has resulted in a very popular and successful event. Its success is evidenced by the increasing attendance every year. Most is an excellent host for WorldSBK, offering exciting events on the track and a unique experience for fans. We look forward to building on the success of these first four years in the coming years," said Gregorio Lavilla, WorldSBK Executive Director, evaluating the past weekend and the overall cooperation.
Sunday's races also attracted the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, who arrived among the fans on his own motorcycle, started one of the races, and presented the trophy to the winner of the main race.
