Pre-season adjustments at Autodrom Most

At the beginning of January, the next phase of modifications to the Most Autodrom track began, which is intended to further enhance the safety and comfort of the race track, which will host the World Superbike Championship (28-30/07/23) and a number of other sporting events for the third year in a row.

This time, the work will focus on the modification of the curbs, the escape zone, the marking of the braking points and the next phase of the modernization of the starting tower. The most significant change has already been made to turn 21, which leads to the finish line. The escape zone has undergone a complete reconstruction and has been expanded even further. The curbs will be modified in turns 4, 11 and 21. "They will be extended and the concrete area behind them will be partially expanded so that the driver has the opportunity to react in the event of going off the race track. The expansion of all curbs is also intended to prevent going off the track (so-called track limits) and at the same time strengthen safety on two exits and once directly in the bend. In the last turn 21, the mud zone has been completely reconstructed, expanded and drained so that we can increase its effect to the maximum possible extent in the given area," explains Jindřich Hrneček, sports director of the Autodrom Most.

Another change that drivers will notice will be the new braking point markings. All markings will now be placed behind the barriers and above the race track. This is the most modern and safest trend on circuits.

The modifications to the starting tower are aimed at providing greater comfort for the WorldSBK contingent and other racing series. Another part of the modernization of the existing facilities will also take place. During the winter months, it will be time to add technology to the race control room, soundproof it and expand its capacity. At the same time, the next floor of the starting tower will be modernized to meet the newly created needs of the Most Autodrom.

The work is divided into individual days, so that the operation will be interrupted only for the necessary time during the repairs. The Autodrom can therefore offer interested members of the general public, for example, winter free rides on 21/01 and 26/02. The rides also take place on snow, so if the weather permits, it will be a unique opportunity to enjoy driving on the circuit in non-standard conditions.
