Major sporting events are not just about the race or the result. They bring athletes, teams and fans to the regions, give Czech viewers the opportunity to watch international sports on home soil and can inspire the next generation to take up sports. Supporting major sporting events is one of the areas that the National Sports Agency is dedicated to.
At the end of August, Most will once again become one of these sporting destinations. The Czech Truck & NASCAR Prix will bring the Goodyear FIA ETRC European Truck Racing Championship and EuroNASCAR races to Autodrom Most from August 27 to 30. In addition to the sporting program itself, such an event is also an example of how major international events can appeal to the general public and contribute to the number of visitors and the life of the region.
The National Sports Agency (NSA) is the central administrative body of the Czech Republic for sports. It is responsible for its development, support for the Czech sports team, and management of financial resources allocated to sports.
Its activities range from top-level sports to supporting physical activities for the general public. The goal is to create conditions so that people can engage in sports regardless of age, performance or place of residence.
An important tool is subsidy programs aimed at sports clubs and physical education units, national sports associations, state representatives, talented youth and major sporting events. NSA also participates in supporting the construction, modernization and renovation of sports facilities throughout the Czech Republic.
High-quality sports facilities are the basis not only for everyday sports, but also for organizing competitions and international events. Sports infrastructure also contributes to the active use of free time, the development of regions and the creation of conditions for sports activities of different generations.
A separate area is the support of major international sporting events in the Czech Republic. According to the NSA, these events are important not only for the status of Czech sport abroad, but also for the host regions and for motivating children and young people to be active.
Support for top-level sports, sports infrastructure and activities for the public thus form an interconnected whole. The aim of the National Sports Agency is to create conditions that will ensure that sport in the Czech Republic has a stable and long-term sustainable perspective.
