EDDA Cup will start the season in Most on Saturday

The competitors and fans of the EDDA Cup have arrived and after the winter break, the new, sixteenth season of the independent series of hillclimb car races, the EDDA Cup, is starting. As usual, the EDDA Cup will start the season at the Most autodrome, which is not a classic hillclimb race, but a safe track with a high-quality surface. Thanks to the logistical arrangement with the possibility of completing two races in one day, this entry into the season has proven to be very suitable for starting after the winter break and checking the quality of preparation of both the competitors and the equipment.

The Most race will follow the proven format, after Friday's scrutineering on Saturday morning it will start with a discussion before the practice of the first race, which will start at nine o'clock. Training intervals for individual groups and two timed race runs are scheduled until the prescribed lunch break. The morning race will end by 1 p.m. The start of the second race is scheduled for 2 p.m., the time schedule of which will be determined operationally according to the situation so that the events on the track end no later than 6 p.m. After the race runs, the best in each class will be announced on the podium next to the pits.

There are currently 138 competitors registered for the race. With a few exceptions, such as Martin Zelenka, who is switching to racing specials on a Ford Fiesta, all championship title holders will start. In addition to the seasoned and experienced participants of the EDDA Cup, representatives of the new generation Jakub Flosman and Filip Srnský, who will follow in the footsteps of their grandfather and father, will also appear in the Saxo Cup class. Competitors who do not start regularly in the series will not miss the Most race, for example, Martin Jerman and Zdeněk Kmínek will arrive with a Lamborghini, and the hockey international and car racer Stanislav Hajdušek in an authentic historical Tatra 603 GT also deserves well-deserved attention. In the exceptionally listed group F, Josef Čermák Jr. will compete for the first time with the "plack" Osella PA20/S. The starting list includes many other well-known and successful names and interesting racing vehicles.

EDDA Cup supporters and all motorsport fans have free entry to all areas accessible to spectators at the autodrome, from where they can safely watch the events on the track. While remaining careful and considerate, it is also possible to view the racing equipment in the racing car parking lot. The EDDA Cup annual book with the 2023 season calendar, an overview of the tracks and driver introductions will be distributed free of charge to spectators. Let's hope that the Most dual race will be a success and become a successful step into the new season.

The list of registered participants, special race regulations, and other information about the race and the entire EDDA Cup can be found on the series website www.edda.cz/mscrdovrchu, and on Saturday it will be possible to watch the online times at globalsporttiming.cz/live/.

Organizers and competitors are looking forward to seeing you on Saturday at the Most Autodrom.
