Drama all the way to the finish! A great WorldSBK race weekend

The fifth edition of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship brought top-notch motorsport, exciting races and an extraordinary atmosphere to the Autodrom Most. Despite the unfavorable weather forecast, a total of 55,318 fans arrived over the three days. This year's number is slightly lower than last year's record (58,474), but it still confirms that WorldSBK has built a strong spectator base in Most.

Visitors enjoyed not only fantastic races, but also exceptional moments – the main Sunday race was waved off by President Petr Pavel , who is a motorsport fan and, as a passionate photographer, also took home an original all-season WorldSBK photo vest with the number 179 from the organizers.

"A big thank you to the fans who arrived despite the uncertain forecast. In the end, the weather cleared up and it was a great weekend. Next year, we will want to move the date even closer to the turn of May and June to increase the chance of more stable weather. At the same time, I would like to thank all the partners who supported the weekend - we have once again shown that the Czech Republic has a lot to offer in the field of motorsport and that Most is a worthy organizer of world events," said Josef Zajíček , general director of Autodrom Most and member of the organizing association AMK Most.

“The Motul Czech Round at the Most Autodrom has quickly become a fan favourite and the fifth edition has once again delivered exciting racing and an incredible atmosphere. The enthusiasm of the Czech fans and the continuous improvement by the Most Autodrom show how much this race means to everyone involved. With the contract now extended for another five years, we are thrilled to be able to build on this strong foundation and bring WorldSBK even closer to fans in this important region,” said Gregorio Lavilla , WorldSBK Executive Director.

Exciting races and a record-breaking close finish

Sunday brought drama in all categories. In the premier class of WorldSBK , Toprak Razgatlioglu first won the sprint Superpole Race , then the main race was decided in the last few centimetres – Nicolo Bulega , who had a heavy crash on Friday, beat Toprak by 0.027 seconds in a close battle, which is one of the smallest margins in the history of the championship.

In the WorldSSP category, Czech rider Ondřej Vostatek scored another point for 15th place. Wild card starters Filip Feigl and Jonáš Kocourek finished in 26th and 27th place. Unfortunately, Petr Svoboda did not do well in the WorldSSP300 class, and did not finish the race. Filip Novotný , the second regular rider in the 300cc championship , also withdrew. On the other hand, Dan Tureček fought until the end and finished in 22nd place.

The racing season in Most is far from over. Fans can expect the German IDM championship in June, followed by the ESET Cup , and the traditional Czech Truck Prix & NASCAR , which will be held from August 29 to 31. The season will end with the historic cars at The Most Classic event, which will be complemented by the Austrian HistoCup championship.
