Doubek will arrive at the Czech Truck Prix as the leader. He finally conquered the oval in Venray

Fifth victory of the season, first on an oval and consolidation of the overall lead. Martin Doubek conquered the EuroNASCAR 2 race in Venray, Netherlands, this weekend, and that means only one thing for him - he will arrive in Most at the turn of August and September in first position in the standings.

The Litomyšl native had no competition at the Dutch oval race. The Hendriks Motorsport driver first won pole position in qualifying and then led from start to finish in the seventy-lap race. He started to build his lead from the opening laps. He then managed to deal with the slower racers who were one lap back. He crossed the finish line with a lead of more than two seconds over Claudio Capelli.

Doubek's victory strengthened his overall lead. He leads his teammate Gil Linster by 34 points, who did not finish in the Netherlands due to technical problems. This was Doubek's fifth victory in EuroNASCAR 2 this year. He previously won the opening race in Valencia, then both races in Vallelunga and then the first race at Brands Hatch. In addition to his five firsts, he also has second place in Sunday's race in Valencia. His only bad moment of the season so far was in the second race at Brands Hatch, when he crashed.

With his triumph in Venray, Doubka managed to break the curse. Since making his first ever appearance on the European NASCAR scene here in 2015, he has never even cracked the top ten at the half-mile track. The 2021 champion also reached a significant milestone. He won for the twelfth time in EuroNASCAR 2, tying the category record.

Doubek's next appearance is on the weekend of August 30 - September 1. It will be a very important event for him. He will perform in front of his home fans at the Autodrom Most. The European NASCAR races will be part of the traditional Czech Truck Prix . In addition to EuroNASCAR 2, we will also see Doubek in the elite EuroNASCAR Pro category, in which he is currently in 10th place in the standings.

The Most weekend will be important for the entire European NASCAR starting field. The event will conclude this year's regular season. After it ends, each driver's two worst results will be deleted. The season will then culminate in the playoffs. This will consist of two events in which double the number of points will be at stake compared to the standard phase of the season.
