A big comeback! Adam Lacko returns to European tractors and will also appear in Most!

Experienced Czech driver and 2017 European Champion Adam Lacko is returning to the European Truck Racing Championship (FIA ETRC) after a three-year break and will take part in two races in the series. In the colors of Buggyra, but unconventionally, probably without a "snout", he will appear at the Nürburgring and also at the home event in Most, which is scheduled for August 30-31.

"We already announced at the time that we were stepping down and would observe the development of the championship. After the former promoter's contract with the FIA expired, we decided to try a comeback. We have agreed to participate in two races, especially the one in front of the home crowd here in Most," says the team's head of communications, Jan Kalivoda, about Adam's big comeback.

For Lacko, it's a return after a three-year break. "After a few years, we're returning to the European Truck Championship. But there's a possibility that we won't be driving our Buggyra, but we'll be driving the classic box like everyone else," says the 2017 European champion with a smile, who is currently testing an Iveco truck from the workshop of six-time European champion Jochen Hahn in Most. "I'm really looking forward to it, after all, 3 years is a long break and the development of technology has moved a lot. Our Buggyra has always been the nicest in the championship, but we want to try which car will be faster." The Czech driver already has experience with this technology. "I've already driven Jochen's Iveco once in 2018 at a customer event, so I'm curious to see where the development has moved over the years. But he's still beating the reigning champion Kiss, so I believe we'll be fast," he adds.

The program is clearly set for now. Buggyra is participating in two races – at the legendary Nürburgring and in Most. “We are planning two races this year as a test, so that we know where the championship under the leadership of the FIA will move and then we will decide what to do next. The Nürburgring is the biggest festival of truck racing, but Most is also very important for us,” explains Kalivoda.
The return to the Czech fans is key for Buggyra, and the cooperation with the Automotoklub Most also played a role in this. "Our goal is for Czech fans to be able to fully enjoy the home races, thanks to...

"We are proud to be able to compete with strong domestic names. Adam Lacko's return to the championship is therefore great news. Adam is an icon and the domestic event is a unique opportunity to see him in action again," says Josef Zajíček, general director of Autodrom Most and a member of the organizing association Automotoklub Most in the Czech Republic.

Lacko is carefully preparing for his return. "We have two days of testing here with our Buggyra and Téo Calvet, where we will try out both cars and be able to compare everything. I'm really enjoying it," describes Lacko.

And the goals? They remain traditional. "I will try to do my best and show myself in a good light. I hope the fans will come to cheer us on again. Let's be surprised how it turns out," Lacko concludes with a smile.

Fans can enjoy the race weekend even more intensely thanks to the limited edition Adam Lacko Buggyra FAN PASS. Czech Truck Prix & NASCAR 2026

The race weekend of August 30-31, 2026 will bring to Autodrom Most one of the most attractive combinations of the season – the FIA ETRC European Truck Racing Championship and the American NASCAR series, which will also feature Czech star Martin Doubek, two-time EuroNASCAR Open champion. In addition to the main races, the program will also offer other supporting series that will complement the events on the track throughout the weekend.

Visitors can look forward not only to the races themselves, but also to a rich accompanying program in the area - an open paddock, driver autograph sessions, fan zones or rides around the circuit. The entire weekend will offer a combination of top motorsport and experiences that fans will get to experience really close up.
